As the weekend wrapped up, it was Mary Jo Camera of Turlock, Calif., and her 5-year-old gelding Fairlea Lucky Gun who held the fast average time on two runs between Friday night and Saturday. Camera placed sixth in the 1D on Friday night with a 16.745 aboard “Lucky,” and on Saturday she sailed across the line for a time of 16.458 and fourth place. Camera pocketed over $1,700 for her efforts. It was a sweet success for the team, both recovering from injuries that occurred in a barrel racing accident earlier this summer when Lucky slipped and Camera hurt her leg severely and was sidelined.
