Giving credit where credit is due: Fairlea Mr Elwood (4/11/2016 Silver Gun x Fairlea Swiss Miss) has started his barrel racing career with a BANG! We could not be more proud of what he is accomplishing. And we would like to give credit to those who brought him to this point.First, a BIG THANK YOU to Monica Caetano Performance Horses. Monica and her team started Elwood right by giving him a solid foundation with all the moves. But, he decided that being a reined cow horse was not for him. We then handed him off to Cheyenne Hattesen who put the pattern on him and brought out that he loves to hunt barrels.
Nov 2021 – CH Performance Horses
Fairlea Mr Elwood finished out his Futurity year strong winning the high stakes Futurity both Saturday an Sunday an the average. He also ran the fastest time of the weekend with a 15.843 winning the American qualifier an the open . Elwood also finished the year end on top of the WPRA divisional circuit with the most money earned.
March 2022 – Cheyenne Hattesen
I am over the moon with this 5 year old !!! I entered Lake Havasu rodeo and at the time I wasn’t sure what I wanted to run but in the end I decided Fairlea Mr Elwood our Futurity horse for this year an he was a nothing short of amazing with a slip at 2nd he never let that faze him he was on a mission an he held in there for a small check at his 1st pro rodeo What a bright future that awaits this amazing young athlete bred and owned by Fairlea Ranch.
July 5 2022 – Barrel Horse News
California and Texas take over the Worlds Oldest Rodeo in Prescott, AZ. Cheyenne Hattesen wins round one and ties for first in the average with Halyn Lide with a combined time of 34.83 seconds each.
August 2022 – Cheyenne Hattesen
Fairlea Mr Elwood won 777 finals. We won the open 1D both days ,the open 1D average , the Futurity both days , the Futurity average, the under 1000 both days , the under 1000 average , the 777 side pot both day . Elwood was so fast we won the whole 1D winning 3 saddles the reserve buckle a head stall an 15k
